About Javeria Muneer


Javeria has been working in the social and human services field for the past nine years and currently offers a wide range of individual and family psychotherapy services including but not limited to addressing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and advocating for Autistic people. At Changeworks Family Therapy in Reston, Virginia, Javeria leverages her firsthand experiences associated with autism--working with diverse and neurodiverse families to provide advocacy empowerment training to achieve better family outcomes with families experiencing autism.


Her recent degree completion in May 2023, is a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). It is further supported by both a post-baccalaureate certification in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities from VCU and Bachelors in Science (Biology) from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.


Since her graduation in May, Javeria has been accepting new patients at Changeworks Family Therapy. She pursues each therapy case with empathy, ensuring the dignity and worth of the individual/family, creating the therapeutic relationship necessary to achieve patient/family mental health goals and objectives. She is currently working towards full post practicum LCSW licensure under the supervision of Susan Pan, LCSW at the Changeworks Family Therapy practice.


THERAPY EXPERIENCE:
Family Liaison and Team Support Infinity ABA Therapy and Autism Services, Herdon, VA
Javeria provided mental health and oversees the socio-emotional needs of special needs clients and their families. She trains families in skills such as learning behavioral intervention techniques, self-advocacy, and family efficacy skills and facilitates support groups connecting special needs families and facilitating a sharing of resources, ideas, and emotional needs.

Lead Training and Service Coordinator Infinity ABA Therapy and Autism Services, Herdon, VA
Javeria led a team of training and service coordinators for parent training, mental health, self-advocacy training, and service coordination. She also developed and maintained professional relationships to network for resources and referrals in the community and supported school-age clients by collaborating with their academic teams.
